Cafe au Lait

Now this is good news! Organic Valley makes a Lactose-Free Half & Half. It contains three ingredients: Organic Grade A Milk, Organic Cream and Lactase Enzyme.

With only 1 g total carb, 1 g sugar and 0 g fiber, it looks totally safe for SIBO! Who knew?

Lactose is, of course, a disaccharide (the D in FODMAP) and to be avoided. So as a committed morning tea person (and sometimes coffee drinker, too), I've been going back and forth between organic heavy cream (only 3% lactose content), soy creamer (0% lactose but contains other sugars) or black cold turkey (none of the above).

Honestly, when I do cream in modest amounts, it hasn't seemed to bother me. But if there is a better option, I'm all over it.

Will definitely look for this organic, lactose-free product in the dairy case!
